About the walk
This true to scale solar system walk is a 3.5 kilometres long trail based at its start point  in the Village of Caherdaniel, Co. Kerry.

The trail follows the old Butter Road (East)/ Kerry Way from Caherdaniel village (Stop 0) to midway along Coad mountain (Stop 9).

 

A daylight walk, your journey will take you through breathtaking scenery.

Your journey starts at the Sun.
Specially commissioned markers at each stop will enable a wonderful exploration of the planets found in our Solar System.

You can of course start your exploration of our solar system from planet Pluto (9) at Coad and walk your way west  towards the Sun (0) at Caherdaniel Village.

 

The Audio trail is playable on your phone
As you walk the accompanying audio for each stop will take you into the realms of other worlds; the planets of our very own solar system.

 

True in scale to the actual distances between our sun and planets, the walk is designed as a trail that you can follow, as if you were travelling from our Sun to the outermost planet in our solar system or vice versa.
