Departing Cahersiveen Marina this 3 hour cruise takes you down the Fertha river towards Valentia Island, past the wonderful Island town of Knightstown, to Dolus head, Bray head and the Skellig Islands before returning via Puffin Island, the Kerry Cliffs and Valentia Lighthouse.
Skellig Michael at the southern most point of the voyage is steeped in history.Your voyage which starts in Cahersiveen, rounds this island before heading back to the mainland.
The area is steeped in history from legendary stories dating as far back as BCE 1400 (3400) years ago to early Christian influences (AD600), to stone forts (AD1000) and castles (AD1500). In more modern times the area is renowned for its location as the starting point of the Trans Atlantic Cable and the world heritage Skellig Michael. It is also the location for the most recent Starwars trilogy. This voyage of discovery will take you through time from 380 million years to the present day. Set in one of Europe's most scenic maritime areas you will witness marine life beyond your imagination; from Europe's second largest seabird nesting site, the Atlantic Gannets of Little Skellig to the possibility of seeing whales, dolphins and basking shark.
